RUSSIA TO BAN VPN PROVIDERS THAT REFUSE TO AID CENSORSHIP

SOURCE: TECH DIRT
Back in 2016 Russia introduced a new surveillance bill promising to deliver greater security to the country. Of course, as with so many similar efforts around the world the bill actually did the exact opposite -- not only mandating new encryption backdoors, but also imposing harsh new data-retention requirements on ISPs and VPN providers. As a result, some VPN providers like Private Internet Access wound up leaving the country after finding their entire function eroded and having some of their servers seized.
Last March Russia upped the ante, demanding that VPN providers like NordVPN, ExpressVPN, IPVanish, and HideMyAss help block forbidden websites that have been added to Russia's censorship watchlist. Not surprisingly those companies balked at the request, and now Russia's moving on to what was the goal from the start: banning these companies from doing business entirely.

EYEWITNESS SAW A SECOND SHOOTER FIRING AN "AUTOMATIC HIGH-POWERED RIFLE" OUTSIDE ROUTE 91 VENUE ON 1 OCTOBER, FBI DOCUMENTS REVEAL

SOURCE: INTELLIHUB
Mention of second and third 1 October shooters appears in official FBI report obtained by Intellihub.

LAS VEGAS (INTELLIHUB) — A female who attended the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival on the night of October 1, 2017, where 58 people lost their lives to automatic gunfire told the investigators from the Federal Bureau of Investigation that she saw a second shooter firing a high-powered automatic rifle from a parking lot located to the east of the venue where country music singer Jason Aldean and his band were playing onstage at the time of the shooting.

The eyewitness told investigators with the bureau that she and about 20 other concertgoers managed to escape the venue grounds and head northeast toward the Tropicana during the third volley of gunfire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this story is true, it absolutely hurls the defy, to the official story of the US government on this case.

CITIZENS DISOBEY NEW ZEALAND GUN BAN, ONLY 530 OF 300,000 PEOPLE TURNED GUNS IN

SOURCE: MATT AGORIST @ THE FREE THOUGHT PROJECT

(Support Free Thought) - In March, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the “first tranche” in a number of moves to restrict the rights of New Zealand citizens to protect themselves with firearms. This move was in direct response to the horrific murders that unfolded on March 15. Coincidentally, this is the exact move the terrorist who carried out these attacks had hoped for and predicted. The good news is, however, that most citizens are refusing to turn in their guns.

The terrorist who murdered 50 people earlier this year was engaging in a classic propaganda of the deed in which he predicted—accurately—that his murder would spark the restriction of gun rights. Lawmakers took his bait.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Thanks, Prime Minister Ardern; you did precisely what this assassin wanted you to do, well done!!

Your country will not be made safer; in fact, anyone thinking about doing such an horrific crime in New Zealand, understands that they have a population which is becoming disarmed, so they think that they can do another massacre like this, with impunity.

I would like to politely suggest, that someone with a Concealed Carry Permit, could have put this person down, with extreme prejudice, before this horrific event happened.

Oh, and BTW: was this kid either just starting, or trying to get off of, antidepressants?

Governments, globally, do not want to give people this information, because it may "scare them off" from taking such medications.

And we know what a marvelous contributors pharmaceutical companies are to political campaigns, right?!?

President Trump Critical of Firearm Suppressors After VA Beach Shooting: "I Don’t Like Them At All'

Ironically, suppressors are one of the most restricted firearm accessories in America, as they are regulated under the National Firearms Act of 1934. Getting one legally involves passing an in-depth background check, being fingerprinted and photographed, registering the device with the federal government, and paying the government a $200 tax (on top the normal costs and taxes for the suppressor). This acquisition process takes eight months and sometimes longer.

Trump WH nominates ‘anti-gunner’ Chuck Canterbury Jr as next ATF director

National Association for Gun Rights president Dudley Brown warned Friday that the White House’s pick to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is an "anti-gunner."

From the National Association For Gun Rights

Late on Friday afternoon the White House released an official statement that Chuck Canterbury, Jr. was nominated to become the next ATF Director.

Unfortunately, Canterbury has a long history of publicly supporting and endorsing anti-gun policies, anti-gun Supreme Court nominees, and anti-gun high ranking government officials.

In his official capacity as President of the National Fraternal Order of Police, Canterbury has:

?

*** Supported radical anti-gun Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

*** Supported former Attorney General Eric Holder — Obama’s head honcho who ran the deadly Fast and Furious gun running program.

*** Supported expanding the federal government’s gun registration schemes.

Trump’s ATF Pick: ‘I Take A Back Seat To No One In My Reverence For The 2nd Amendment’

President Donald Trump announced Friday plans to nominate Fraternal Order of Police President Chuck Canterbury to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Canterbury has been Fraternity Order of Police (FOP) president for 16 years, having previously spent 26 years in the Horry County, South Carolina, Police Department’s patrol, criminal and training divisions, according to the White House statement.

“Chuck is one of the most honorable people I’ve ever worked with and if he is selected, I can’t think of a finer person to take the position,” said Jonathan Thompson, executive director of the National Sheriffs’ Association. Thompson made the remarks to POLITICO in Nov. 2018, when Canterbury’s name was first floated for the position.

Bloomberg Gun-Ignorance Course Continues Bloomberging Rights Away

For starters, the 2nd Amendment is described as “a legal and political challenge” to gun control and “the elephant in the room” when talking about gun policy. Constitutional rights should not be considered “challenges” to any worthwhile endeavor, but that sort of (un)subtle bias is present throughout the week two presentations.

They're Back! 3D-Printed Guns Are Unstoppable And Here To Stay

An entirely decentralized network of self-defense rights advocates have taken to the internet to provide plans for 3D-printed guns. It looks like the 3D guns are unregulatable and unstoppable. They’re anonymously sharing the blueprints and advice while simultaneously building an unstoppable community.

Unlike previous attempts to popularize 3D-printed guns, this newer operation is entirely decentralized. There’s no headquarters, no trademarks, and no real leader. The people behind it already understand that this means they can’t be stopped by governments and their laws or regulations.

“If they [the government] were to come after me, they’d first have to find my identity,” says Ivan the Troll, a member of the group. “I’m one of many, many like-minded individuals who’re doing this sort of work.”

Legislature approves bill banning undetectable firearms

Making, selling, transporting or possessing 3D-printed guns and other undetectable firearms would be banned in New York under legislation approved by the Democrat-controlled state Legislature.

The Assembly passed the bill Monday, five days after the legislation was approved by the Senate.

The measure would ban all firearms whose components can’t be detected by security screening technology such as X-rays and metal detectors typically used at airports.

The bill now goes to Gov. Andrew Cuomo for approval or veto. The third-term Democrat has successfully pushed for tighter gun control laws in New York in recent years.

“We obviously support efforts to further strengthen the strongest gun safety laws in the nation, which were advanced by Governor Cuomo, but we need to review the language of this amended bill to make sure it accomplishes its stated goal,” Cuomo senior advisory Richard Azzopardi said in a statement Tuesday.

“Gun crime” is a made up word from the anti-gun world… here are the real numbers

An Obama administration study showed guns are used over 500,000 time a year to save a life or prevent crime or assault.

If not for gangs and drugs, the number of murders by guns is below 1,700 in a county of 330,000,000 people. Remove the gangs and drugs, the US is one of the SAFEST countries in the world.

Swiss Activists Invoke William Tell In Their Defiance Of Potential Gun Rules

Switzerland is one of the most gun-friendly nations in Europe. It has one of the highest rates of gun ownership per capita on the continent, and those numbers are probably skewed low because many households contain guns technically owned by the military as veterans keep their service weapons at home for rapid call-up purposes. (I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer as to whether those weapons are counted or not.)

Switzerland also isn’t part of the European Union.

However, the country does enjoy a good relationship with the EU. That relationship is threatened right now because the EU wants Switzerland to put tougher gun laws in place or else find its easy access to the rest of Europe cut off.

Now, the nation is set to vote on whether it should adopt new gun control measures, and opponents of the move are invoking a folk hero known for shooting tyrants.

Gun lobby misses its target as Swiss voters approve tougher gun control

Voters have endorsed a controversial reform of Swiss gun law to bring it into line with European Union rules.

Final results show the reform winning 63.7% of the ballot on Sunday. The result was much closer in some rural regions, though voters in canton Ticino were the only ones to reject the legal amendment.

Ownership of semi-automatic weapons will now require regular training on the use of firearms and a serial numbering of major parts of some guns to help track them.

Therefore, when the media and politicians focus their ire on guns, specifically what types of guns are used, such as AR-styles, carbines, semi-automatics, and “high capacity” handguns, in the wake of such tragedies the American public are being intentionally drawn into an emotionally charged debate about legal gun ownership (irrespective of whether the murderer’s gun was legally or illegally obtained). This debate leads them away from the elephant in the room and one of the real issues behind mass shootings – mental health and prescription drugs.

Does Gun Control Reduce Crime

When you take a gun away from law abiding citizens you make it easier for criminals to commit crimes. Do advocates ol strict gun control have evidence that supports their premise that communities are safer where gun ownership is banned.

There is a mountain of evidence that the cities with the most crimes are those where the victims are denied the right to protect themselves.

Every day, 28 people die as a result of drunk driving crashes on average. In 2010, 10,228 people died in drunk driving crashes – one every 52 minutes – and 345,000 were injured. In 2010, people killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes accounted for nearly one-third (31%) of all traffic-related deaths.

The solution is not to ban automobiles, it is to punish those who turn innocent people into victims,

Massive cache of 1,000 guns seized from Bel-Air mansion connected to Gettys

A man was arrested Wednesday after authorities seized more than 1,000 guns from a home in Holmby Hills, authorities said.

Officials received an anonymous tip about a person illegally manufacturing and selling guns in a home in the 100 block of North Beverly Glen Boulevard, said Officer Mike Lopez, a spokesman with the Los Angeles Police Department.

As part of an ongoing joint investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the LAPD served a search warrant at the home at 4 a.m., he said.

The ATF said in a statement that its agents searched the home after discovering an individual illegally selling firearms “outside the scope of the federal firearm license that the individual possesses.”

The federal agency added: “ATF and LAPD have no reason to believe the public is in any danger.”

Uprising! The Hungarian Revolution of 1956

THE Hungarian uprising of 1956 was a spontaneous rebellion by a nation against the rule from Moscow - against the faceless, indifferent, incompetent functionaries (the 'funkies' David Irving calls them, adapting the Hungarian word funkcionáriusók) who in little more than a decade had turned their country into a pit of Marxist misery. But this fluttering of a national spirit was brief: the Soviet Union crushed the uprising with a brutality that shocked the western world.

Trump heeds NRA, says he's pulling US out of Arms Trade Treaty

Trump tells gun lobby he intends to revoke status of US as a signatory of the treaty, which wasn't ratified by Senate.

US President Donald Trump announced on Friday at the National Rifle Association's (NRA) annual meeting that the United States will drop out of an international arms treaty signed in 2013 by then-President Barack Obama but opposed by the NRA and other conservative groups.

Trump told members of the gun lobby that he intends to revoke the status of the US as a signatory of the Arms Trade Treaty, which was never ratified by the US Senate.
***
The NRA has long opposed the treaty which regulates the $70bn business in conventional arms and seeks to keep weapons out of the hands of human rights abusers. The lobbying group argues it would undermine domestic gun rights, a view the Obama administration rejected.

Trump added that the United Nations will soon receive formal notice of the withdrawal.

The Fountain Murders:

Oliver Lee is the most underrated gunman of The Old West!

February 1, 1896
Albert Jennings Fountain is agitated. It’s cold and windy, and his young son is coming down with a cold. Fountain is anxious to get the eight year old home to his mother, but his discomfort has more to do with three suspicious horseback riders who have been tailing him for some time.

These are not the first riders to trail him on this ride. Some 40 miles from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Fountain encountered the mail carrier on the way to Tularosa. Reining up, the postman had pulled alongside, and Fountain asked him, while pointing off in the distance: “Do you know who those horsemen are?”

Once and for all, who did it and why?

For the 57-year-old lawman, his was an undignified death. Pat Garrett was urinating on the side of the road to Las Cruces, New Mexico, about four miles east of town. As he was so occupied, somebody hidden about 50 feet behind him put a Winchester bullet in the back of his head.

On February 29, 1908, Garrett was dead. The man who had headed down the legends trail nearly 30 years before when he killed Billy the Kid, murdered.

It was a conspiracy. A contract murder. An organized crime hit.

Here's New Mexico Militia Leader Johnny Horton Jr.'s Bizarre Arrest Record

Very interesting.Anybody arrested for felon in possession of a firearm would get 15 months prison time by the feds. No federal charges until this little stunt. This fellow is working for somebody IMHO. Even if this article is from the SPLC.

Horton’s fundraising attempts were documented in November in a Hatewatch article about how caravan paranoia was sowing division among militia diehards. The article revealed that Horton’s real name is Larry Hopkins, a fact he fails to make clear in his group’s fundraising pitches on PayPal and GoFundMe. Since then, Hopkins, 69, has increased the amount of money he’s asking for to more than $12,000, having already surpassed his previous goal of $2,500.

Now, Hatewatch has obtained records that show there’s more to Hopkins’ history than just his fictitious name and elaborate claims.

STUDY: Americans Use Firearms In Defense Of Themselves Or Others Between 500,000 And 3 Million Times Every Year.

Gun control advocates long have controlled the narrative about defensive uses of firearms, calling the “good guy with a gun” scenario a “myth meant to scare people into buying guns for self-defense.”

This is a false narrative that does not reflect reality.

Despite a backdrop of rhetoric asserting that “the average person … has basically no chance in their lifetime ever to use a gun in self-defense,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a 2013 report concluded that studies routinely find that Americans use firearms in defense of themselves or others between 500,000 and 3 million times every year.

California Dem Running for President Says Confiscating ‘Assault Weapons’ is a Top Priority

California Congressman Eric Swalwell is running for president. And as a way to separate himself from the crowded field of Dems angling to win the party nom and take on Trump in 2020, Swalwell has made his anti-gun crusade the centerpiece of his campaign.

“I will be the first candidate to say that reducing gun violence has to be a top three issue,” Swalwell told Esquire. “Last year I wrote a bill calling for a buyback and ban on assault weapons — not just to ban future manufacturing, but to just take the 15 million that are out there and buy them back.”

How can the government purchase something back that never belonged to it in the first place?

But even supposing it can, what would eradicating the existence of “assault weapons” actually do to reduce crime? The answer is virtually nothing.
