Thought for the day

"Power’s not a chalice. It’s a hammer. And it only does one thing. Power smashes. The subtext of all power is extortion. It’s always the threat of force, of imprisonment, the threat of death. Always." -- Adam Skelter, Prophet Margin: The Benefit of the Doubt

Everyone has lost their fucking mind. Propaganda has made madness look like sanity and sanity look like madness, has normalized cheerleading for nuclear world war and abnormalized calls for de-escalation and detente. It's truly as bat shit insane as anything could possibly be.

Over and over again we're being fed the message from the US and its proxies that this game of nuclear chicken can only escalate and never de-escalate. They are lying. They are playing games with all our lives in service of a dark god named unipolarism, and we gain nothing from it.

The Kremlin has called on the international community to pay special attention to Zelensky’s statements, especially the US and the UK, who Peskov says are “de facto in control of Kiev’s actions” and therefore bear responsibility for the Ukrainian president’s words.

The Kremlin on Thursday denounced comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in which he suggested NATO should launch preventive strikes to rule out any Russian use of nuclear weapons, RIA news agency said.

"Such statements are nothing other than an appeal to start yet another world war with unpredictable, monstrous consequences," RIA cited Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.

During an online conference at Australia's Lowy Institute, Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky called on NATO to carry out "preventive nuclear strikes" on Russia in order to "deter" Moscow from using nukes. The Russian side has repeatedly stressed that there can be no winner in a nuclear war, and it should never be unleashed.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has urged the entire world to take note of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's call for a preventive nuclear strike on Russia.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky is calling for NATO to launch "preemptive strikes" on Russia "so that they know what awaits them if they use nuclear weapons."

"Preemptive strikes are needed so that they know what awaits them if they use nuclear weapons," Zelensky told the Lowy Institute on Thursday according to a translation from Interfax. "Not the other way around, waiting for Russia's nuclear strikes and then saying, 'oh, you've done that, then get this.'"
