Thought for the day
"We're so self-important. So arrogant. Everybody's going to save something now. Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save the snails. And the supreme arrogance? Save the planet! Are these people kidding? Save the planet? We don't even know how to take care of ourselves; we haven't learned how to care for one another. We're gonna save the fuckin' planet? . . . And, by the way, there's nothing wrong with the planet in the first place. The planet is fine. The people are fucked! Compared with the people, the planet is doin' great. It's been here over four billion years . . . The planet isn't goin' anywhere, folks. We are! We're goin' away. Pack your shit, we're goin' away. And we won't leave much of a trace. Thank God for that. Nothing left. Maybe a little Styrofoam. The planet will be here, and we'll be gone. Another failed mutation; another closed-end biological mistake." -- George Carlin

President Trump on Friday said he will be filing a “major motion” soon in response to the “illegal” FBI raid of his Florida residence.
As the whole country has been struggling through inflation and a fickle economy, Florida is doing well and seems to be on the road to a bettering economy as its unemployment numbers dropped to historic rates in July.
COVID ignited an increase in the involvement of parents in the education of their children. Virtual education and over the top mandate rules brought an influx of parents to school board meetings.
White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain is putting the spin on the Biden administration's performance ahead of the November midterm elections in hopes of shoring up support for Democrats, who are in danger of losing control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
In a Thursday interview with Politico, Klain touted what he described as "historic achievements" by President Biden, and argued Democrats were the "clearer" choice for voters despite persistent decades-high inflation, high gas prices and a spiraling crisis at the southern border.
"We now have a presidency where the president has delivered the largest economic recovery plan since Roosevelt, the largest infrastructure plan since Eisenhower, the most judges confirmed since Kennedy, the second-largest health care bill since Johnson and the largest climate change bill in history… The first time we've done gun control since President Clinton was here, the first time ever an African American woman has been put on the U.S. Supreme Court… I think it’s a record to take to the American people," Klain told Politico.
Webmaster addition: Refresh my memory, Ron!

The FBI’s worst fears are coming true as President Donald Trump and his son, Eric, have vowed to release the security footage “at the right time.”
FBI agents demanded that security cameras be turned off during their raid at President Donald Trump’s private home at Mar-a-Lago. This never happened as the Mar-a-Lago staff refused to comply, according to Trump’s son Eric.
The Trump family watched as agents are seen behaving improperly and searching places they “shouldn’t have been.”
Agents reportedly searched Melania Trump’s wardrobe despite allegedly on the property to obtained classified documents.
The surveillance cameras were never turned off, Trump’s son Erics explained.
The raid by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on former President Donald Trump’s home has damaged the agency's standing with Republican and independent voters, according to a new poll, which found that a majority agree with the idea that it has become 'Biden's Gestapo.'
The search of Mar-a-Lago has emboldened Trump supporters and generated a wave of donations to the former president's political organizations.
And close allies including Steve Bannon have used the public platforms to compare the FBI with Hitler's Gestapo or East Germany's brutal secret police force, the Stasi.
HBO Max abruptly pulled a slew of unscripted and animated television offerings this week in an unexpected move that has content creators crying foul.
Retired NBA star Dwyane Wade has filed a petition to legally change the name and gender of his 15-year-old son, Zion, who goes by Zaya.
An old court ruling in a case involving recorded audio tapes Bill Clinton had made stored for a time in his sock drawer could hit the FBI and the Department of Justice hard in the politicized agencies' attacks on President Trump, according to a new report.
Just the News reported that the court decision at the time concluded that various items were in the possession of Clinton, and therefore presumed to be his personally property, so Americans had no right to force access to them.
I don’t agree with much of what Deep State swamp rat John Bolton says here, except that Merrick Garland is in way over his head. That part I do agree with, and I also agree that President Trump will win, in the end. But I have a feeling it’s going to be a long, exhausting road. The Daily Caller reported that Attorney General Merrick Garland is a “lamb” about to be “slaughtered” by former President Donald Trump, former National Security Adviser John Bolton said Tuesday on CNN.
CNN’s “New Day” host John Berman asked Bolton to comment on the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) objection to releasing the search warrant affidavit. Bolton said Garland is “being overwhelmed” politically but that his legal reasoning seems legit.
“I think it says there are very significant problems here for President Trump and many of his advisers, post-presidency,” Bolton said. “But I think we’ve got to distinguish between the legal battle that’s going on and the political battle. I think the Justice Department position sounds perfectly reasonable on the legal battle.”
Bolton, however, said when it comes to the political side of things, Garland is being “overwhelmed.”
“If we were in a Colosseum with two gladiators, one of them Donald Trump, the other Merrick Garland, we’d be about to witness the slaughter of the lambs. The Justice Department understandably wants to follow its normal procedures. It’s facing an adversary who couldn’t care less about the normal procedures.”
Rainbow-colored fentanyl pills resembling candy and sidewalk chalk pouring over the southern border are plaguing cities nationwide.
Sources believe that the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home was specifically targeting the former President’s “private stash” of hidden documents, including documents he believed would “exonerate” him from claims of Russia collusion.
The revelations come from a report by Newsweek which cites two unnamed, high-level intelligence officials as sources.
The report indicates agents were instructed to retrieve “all government documents” so as to protect the source who had tipped them off, “But the true target was this private stash, which Justice Department officials feared Donald Trump might weaponize.”
“The sought-after documents deal with a variety of intelligence matters of interest to the former president, the officials suggest—including material that Trump apparently thought would exonerate him of any claims of Russian collusion in 2016 or any other election-related charges.”
Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that 20 people in his state had been charged with voter fraud in what he described as an “opening salvo” in cracking down on voting violations.
Two Pennsylvania judges who orchestrated a scheme to send children to for-profit jails in exchange for kickbacks were ordered to pay more than $200m to hundreds who fell victim to their crimes.
US district judge Christopher Conner awarded $106m in compensatory damages and $100m in punitive damages to nearly 300 people in a long-running civil suit against the judges, writing the plaintiffs are “the tragic human casualties of a scandal of epic proportions”.
In what came to be known as the kids-for-cash scandal, Mark Ciavarella and another judge, Michael Conahan, shut down a county-run juvenile detention center and accepted $2.8m in illegal payments from the builder and co-owner of two for-profit lockups.
Ciavarella, who presided over juvenile court, pushed a zero-tolerance policy that guaranteed large numbers of children would be sent to PA Child Care and its sister facility, Western PA Child Care.
In the latest example of historical revisionism being used to erase women by the woke LGBTQ+ movement, a scholar has claimed that Queen Elizabeth I of England was “non-binary”.
Along with the announcement from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre that they have cast St Joan of Arc as a “gender-neutral” character in an upcoming play, Dr Kit Heyam penned a blog post for the theatre’s website earlier this month defending why “it was necessary” to use modern gender theory when looking at the past.
Dr Heyam, who describes himself as a “trans awareness trainer” with (they/them or he/him) pronouns, said St Joan was not the only historical example of LGBTQ+ figures, claiming that 10th-century ruler Æthelflæd, Lady of the Mercians, and Queen Elizabeth I of England were both transgender.
“Æthelflæd, who governed Mercia after the death of their [sic] husband, was later described as ‘conducting…Armies, as if she had changed her sex’: to take on a male-coded military role was, in some sense, for Æthelflæd to become male,” Heyam wrote.
“Elizabeth I, similarly, described themself [sic] regularly in speeches as ‘king’, ‘queen’ and ‘prince’, choosing strategically to emphasise their female identity or their male monarchical role at different points,” he added. “Inhabiting that social role and dressing in the clothes associated with it, while living and working among men, may not just have felt like gendered defiance: it may have had a profound impact on their sense of self.”
Teens are now jumping in front of oncoming trucks in an attempt to make outrageous online content — but suffering fatal consequences.
The city’s official Twitter account posted a disturbing, semicensored video of the horrific incident, warning that the “reckless action of teenagers to stop the truck” caused a death.

Barely a month after UPS announced it would stop shipping packages for companies that sell parts used to make untraceable firearms known as “ghost guns,” one of the nation’s most prominent gun control advocacy groups is demanding FedEx follow suit.
The Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the organization associated with former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords, sent a letter Tuesday asking the president and CEO of FedEx to adopt “a policy of refusing to ship dangerous firearm products that are fueling the epidemic of gun violence in America.”
“Ghost gun manufacturers are known to be irresponsible actors employing questionable business practices with deadly irreversible consequences. FedEx should not choose to do business with these companies,” said the letter, first obtained and reported by VICE News.
The Biden administration confirmed on Tuesday that it will cancel $3.9 billion in student loan debt for more than 200,000 students who attended the now-defunct ITT Technical Institute, according to a new Washington Post report.
The action covers 208,000 people who were enrolled at ITT Technical Institute from January 1, 2005 until its closure in September 2016. Between those years, the institution enrolled about 45,000 students across 130 campuses. The school was the subject of several state and federal investigations over recruitment tactics, lending practices, and job placement data. It closed shortly after the government halted federal funding due to the failure to follow accreditation standards.
Former students are not required to submit an application and will receive a letter from the Education Department informing them of the automatic loan forgiveness. “It is time for student borrowers to stop shouldering the burden from ITT’s years of lies and false promises,” Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in a statement.
That’s right, that wasn’t a typo -- Wyoming GOP Rep. Liz Cheney’s husband is a partner at the law firm that represents Hunter Biden.
Perry has worked at Latham & Watkins since 2007. According to his company biography, he mostly works on white-collar cases, commercial, and Supreme Court litigation. Meanwhile, a different partner at the firm, Chris Clark, has been representing Hunter Biden since December 2020 — though Cheney’s husband’s involvement at the firm had not been previously known.
The firm of Latham & Watkins is a well-renowned powerhouse for the Democratic Party, with company attorneys and other employees donating more than half a million dollars to President Biden’s 2020 campaign, according to records from the Federal Election Commission. Clark himself forked over some $3,800.
Donald Trump claims all of the documents seized by the FBI from Mar-a-Lago were declassified and in “secure storage” at the resort. But one of the former president’s own attorneys didn’t exactly instill a lot of confidence about just how “secure” that storage was.
“It was a locked door, and getting back down into the basement, there’s security, you can’t just walk down there,” Christina Bobb told Laura Ingraham on Thursday. “Only certain members of staff can get there, and then there’s only one key.”
Bobb added that “a limited number of people” had access to that area:
Russian energy giant Gazprom announced on Friday that transit of natural gas to the European Union via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline will be halted from August 31 to September 2 for maintenance.
“On August 31, the only working Trent 60 gas compressor unit will be shut down for three days for maintenance,” the company stated, noting that all repairs will be carried out jointly with specialists from the German manufacturer, Siemens.
Gazprom added that “Upon completion of work and the absence of technical malfunctions of the unit, gas transportation will be restored to the level of 33 million cubic meters per day,” representing roughly 20% of the pipeline’s full capacity.
The unit is the last one of the pipeline’s six turbines that was operational, with the rest in need of an overhaul. One of the turbines is currently stranded in Germany due to sanctions, after returning from repair works in Canada.
As prices at the pump remain 64% higher than those at the time of President Joe Biden’s inauguration, CNN Business’ front page was emblazoned with the headline: “America got a raise.”
It is very ironic that the politicians blame guns as the culprit of mass shootings when it’s almost always registered Democrats pulling the trigger. The Democrat politicians not only point the finger at the automatic or semi-automatic guns, but indirectly blame their own registered voters for the crimes, then try to illegally and unconstitutionally confiscate guns from Republicans and conservatives. The whole gun-grabbing campaign is hinged on emotional highs just after registered Democrats shoot up a school, movie theatre or college campus. What a farce.
